New Book Extols the Joys and Necessities of Reading, Interviewing Authors, Librarians, and Public Figures to Challenge Readers to Dream

Provincetown, MA (PRWEB) November 2, 2007 -- Reading is said to be fundamental, but Provincetown author Jeannette Cezanne says that it is inspirational, too, in her new book Open Your Heart with Reading (DreamTime Publishing, October, 2007). Geared toward both adults and adolescents, the book aims to help readers' imaginations take off while they become aware of the great gift of reading - and inspire them to share it with others.

"Throughout the course of my life," writes Cezanne, "I've been an explorer, an actor, a murderer, and a priest. I've saved some lives and taken others. I've written bestsellers and I've been illiterate. I've owned chateaux in France and I've begged for bread crusts on the streets of London. In other words, I've read books."

"Reading opens doors, whole new worlds, and, yes, even your heart. Cezanne's book captures all that - and more - perfectly," says Meg Bertini, publisher and president of DreamTime Publishing, Inc. "I am grateful and proud that we were the ones who published it."

The book explores the liminality of childhood literature, as well as storytelling, travel to faraway places, people we meet in books, eras we can explore, the excitement of plot-driven mysteries and science fiction, the strong emotions we can experience through fictional characters, and coming full circle with the imagination. Cezanne has been astonished throughout her adult life to meet people who say, "I'd read, I just can't find the time for it." For someone like her, this is like saying, "I'd breathe, but I just can't find the time for it."

So how do we open people's hearts to, and with, reading?

By rediscovering the magic of words, says Cezanne. If you only read because you must, then you're missing out on a world of adventure and excitement! Join Jeannette Cézanne and her guests - authors, a playwright, a literacy expert, a librarian, a DJ, and others - as they articulate how reading has touched their lives ... and how it can touch yours, too.

National Slam Poetry champion Regie Gibson writes in the foreword: "In Open Your Heart with Reading, Cezanne has done us a spiritual service, and this book will be an effective addition to the libraries of educators, parents, and anyone desiring to keep students, children, and themselves connected to the joys of literature."

Open Your Heart with Reading is now available at independent local booksellers, big-box stores, and online. Contact the author for autographed copies or bookplates.
